Artist Statement When I was 11, my mom bought my siblings and I disposable cameras when we visited the Rocky Mountains. I spent the entirety of my film taking pictures of two ducks by the side of a pond. Minutes later, a grizzly bear appeared on the path less than 20 yards from us. While dozens of tourists snapped countless pictures of this beautiful beast, I gripped the full (and now-useless) disposable camera tightly in my hand and just watched. ​I was disappointed for the rest of the trip. Don't get me wrong, I love ducks too, but the bear was "cooler" to my eleven year-old self. This was my beginning into photography--the beginning of the thing I love getting up in the morning for.

I'm twenty-seven now, and I've spent the last nine years with a camera in my hands. My work has just recently caught up with the standards and expectations I had of myself all along. I am, like all of us, a compilation of the entire journey. Part of mine was finding pride in my work, and getting to the point of being confident enough to show the rest of the world, too.



My aim is simple. I want to give a voice to the innocent, and do my part in showing others our many rapidly-declining ecosystems, and their displaced inhabitants (humans and animals alike). I want to preserve our natural world (my office). I have a deep love of life in its many shapes and sizes, and think that we are all deserving of a chance at spending some time on this floating sphere; I believe it's our birthright, and I'll do my very best to help protect it.

I hope my photos make you happy, outraged, sad, hopeful, or anything in between. Whatever you feel is irrelevant, because you felt, if only for a moment. And if that happens, my work here is done.
