Artist Statement Lara Messina is an italian artist.
Born in Trieste in 1987, she attended "Enrico e Umberto Nordio” Arts High School, specializing in painted decoration. After becoming makeup artist and graphic designer, she moved to Milan, where she graduated from IED (European Institute of Design) in 2014.
The double nature of her education – both artistic and technical – is easily found in her paintings.
Lara can be defined as an “aesthetical conceptual” painter, since the importance of the message is conveyed by a perpetual, evocative abstraction of beauty and in-depth study of colors. Thus, faces and concepts are deconstructed and then reunited in a composition with completely new balance.
