Artist Statement I grew up creating art of all kinds and riding through the woods with the neighborhood kids on our banana-seat Schwinns (an upgrade from the wheeled plastic bunny). I finally found a way to marry my mountain biking and artistic passions. I base my designs on photos I take while mountain biking, and create my artwork using a very archaic vector-based drawing program. I try to keep each design to just three basic colors, which I believe gives each one a unified, cohesive feeling. I am inspired by vintage travel posters, particularly those of national parks created in the 1930s and 40s under the WPAs' Federal Art Project. And I am forever awed by the breathtaking qualities of color and light.
