Artist Statement I am a lifelong painter, and my work in photography has led me to want to combine the two in nonobvious ways. The application of figure to ground and ground to figure is the express result of a momentary gesture.
My work falls into a few main areas: abstract landscapes and seascapes, "pure" abstraction as Abstract Expressionism or Abstract Impressionism, as well as simulated aerial photography in which paint is applied and abstracts mimicing the natural processes of erosion, glaciation, and sedimentation. I enjoy recreating the experience of depth in my paintings
