Description this project is a collaboration with my daughter Debra Murphy- she made the ballet part in high school art class and I added the jeans to represent the contrast and melding of the feminine and masculine sides of our personalities
Joyce MacPhee, Blue Ridge Mtns, NC Member Since January 2008 Artist Statement It wasn’t until I was 48 in 2000 that I was moved to start painting again to avoid the empty nest syndrome. As a teenager I had developed a style after my favorites- Vincent Van Gogh and Jasper Johns. My husband Scott and I were almost done raising our 3 children (Lori, Ian & Debra). Commissioned by friends and coworkers I painted a lighthouse, sunflower, a cowboy at sunset, A friend's 60th birthday, a statue of Liberty etc I especially liked anything that was patriotic. If you want me to paint you something let me know by email ok? I'm firstname.lastname@example.org Thanks so much for your interest!
