Artist Statement Climbing trees, roaming the forests of Western Massachusetts with a backpack full of pastels and paints, getting lost and groping my way home at dusk, was a great way to grow up. Moving to arid Sedona, I discovered new trees and forest, backpacking and horseback riding throughout the Southwest, and found new places to paint. The metaphors of Nature gave my artwork a more compelling urgency to be painted, and I discovered that this touched others in the same way. What a delight to find kindred spirits in my clients from over 60+ years of artwork. I paint from spirit and find that this connects to others. There is no greater joy than having this unity of hearts and souls emerge through my paintings.
