Artist Statement I'm a Cuban-American Pop Artist. Since my early childhood I have shown a talent and passion for art. My art has driven me into the profession I hold today. I have fused my culture, passions, and tattoo background into my art to make it my own, a style that I like to call “the darker side of Pop Art”. My art emphasizes the relationship between shadows and light, color and texture. I break each image down into individual colors, then put those colors back together to create an image that is contemporary and visually appealing.

I was born in Los Angeles, California, where I spent the early part of my life, and moved to Miami when I was around 10 years old. My initial artistic inspirations came from comic book artists like Jim Lee and Todd McFarlane, to name a few. At 18, I made a lifelong friend while getting a tattoo. This friendship evolved into an apprenticeship, and I found a new way to use my artistic talents. I spent much of his adult life tattooing across the country, refining my craft, always drawing and working from my own designs to try to give the customer something original and different. Despite so many influences in Miami, my individual style emerged from the influences of Pop Art. I incorporates my own style, which I like to call "the darker side of Pop Prt”, fusing Pop Art with traditional tattoo style and other contemporary themes inspired by my heritage and upbringing. My work depicts different subject matters ranging from portraits to pin-ups. Recently, I have begun to introduce to my paintings a style influenced by my love of photography.
