Artist Statement Once upon a time, there was a fairy that got lost in the hurly-burly of selling pizza and gym memberships. As if that was not bad enough, she fell in love with a pirate who locked her heart away and refused to give it back. Distraught, she set about trying to make the best of it. The result is what you see in the gallery -- beauty laboring under the yoke of the real world. Someday, perhaps, if the gods smile, the fairy will fly to the stars and back, sprinkling magic fairy dust on everyone else who has stumbled upon their way.
