Artist Statement Thanks for visiting the Gypsy Woman Gallery! Originally a mid-westerner... raised in St. Louis, Missouri... I spent the last 12 years living and learning in New Orleans, LA. And now, I am currently on the road in Europe.... a Gypsy Woman!

I love art. It inspires me. I love the impact an image, shape, or texture can have. Sometimes...it just makes me feel better. I studied graphic design and art in college at the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was kind of an accident... found my way to a graphics art lab in a visual communication class. But after that, there was no turning back. Something in me was found.

While living in New Orleans, I began to experiment a bit more with what it was for me to be creative. I lived surrounded by artists. I played with painting and explored creating images with intention. I received a little formal training from a wonderful New Orleans watercolor artist, Robert Guthrie.

In New Orleans I also discovered the practice of Reiki. Reiki is a Japanese healing art. Once one is initiated into Reiki, the healing energy flows through them. Several images in my gallery are dedicated to that practice... particularly the images of the "5 Precepts of Reiki". To learn more about Reiki you can visit the website www.usuireiki-ogm.com.
