Description Docked Masts - is a nautical wall art print done in an abstract watercolor technique that is depicting the masts of boats docked in a harbor. This technique focuses on traditional watercolor for color, but uses a precise drawing technique that creates sharp pockets of color in an almost abstract manner. The technique creates an illusion of detail, but is really just sharp shapes of precise color. The setting is a harbor lined by a New England fishing village. The harbor is a busy port for fisherman and other boaters. All around the harbor are docks and moors for the many boats that call the harbor home. New England is infamous for its fishing industry and the towns that support it. The natural setting of harbors, ocean and coastline creates an ideal situation for artists. When considering an art print, the interior design of the room comes into play and the look you are going for with any given print comes into the decision process. This particular style of art print works best in almost any style of room decor. However, an influencing factor is the framing and matting style, which can dictate what decor the final piece will look good in versus just the style of the art print.More Artist Information: Additional prints available in Kirt's Gallery - https://TheWallGallery.comFollow my work:Blog: http://thewallgalleryblog.wordpress.com/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/b/113998712261783920634/+Thewallgallery/postsTwitter: https://twitter.com/KirtWallGalleryFacebook:https://www.facebook.com/TheWallGallery.KirtTisdaleCopyright 2012 Kirt Tisdale / TheWallGallery.com
Kirt Tisdale, Sherman Oaks Member Since February 2013 Artist Statement I have been creating art since I can remember. I have been blessed with having my work featured in various venues. What drives me is the beauty in the world with which we live. I remember as a kid looking up at the clouds and watching them change shape...if they could only stay in one shape long enough for me to enjoy and appreciate them....but that's not how it works. What I can do though is take a moment and freeze it. The beauty around us needs to be savored, contemplated and appreciated. Good art invokes an emotional response either through the scene depicted or the colors used. I hope my work invokes the same in you.
