Artist Statement I have had an interest in photography as an artform since the early 70's. I began my photographic 'career' working as a portrait photographer for various studios in the Chicago suburbs. Currently most of the artistic community knows me as a watercolorist witht he Licking County Arts in Ohio. I have often used my photographs as stock photo's for paintings. This very well explains my style of composing and lighting my subject matter. I'm especially passionate about capturing moments in nature. Closeups fascinate me! Extreme changes in weather or sunlight move me to get out of the house and go on 'safari' often in the early morning hours. I have recently switched from film to digital media and am anxious to continue growing in this wonderful format. I once had someone comment that I have taken the ordinary and made it extraordinary.
