Artist Statement Growing up in the rural Midwest (Indiana) I couldn’t wait for summer to come, and not just because we were out of school for three months. I wanted to spend every minute that I could outside; absorbing it all, doing anything my imagination could conjure or doing absolutely nothing.
That rural experience is what directed me to the photography that I enjoy, that I have a passion for today. Outdoors, nature, wildlife, whatever God places before me. After all He is the Master Artist; I just try to capture His artistry in the moment, to capture the intimacy of nature, life as it happens. To try and photograph things as they happen, on their terms in their own environment. Even though the natural world can be very fleeting and temperamental, it has no demands other than just appreciate it. That appreciation, love of nature, is what I hope you will be able to see in my photography.
