Description The deer were grazing in an open area just outside the treeline that was casting its shadow on them. Like synchronized swimmers, their heads popped up in unison. They stood transfixed, facing the same direction, with their ears twitching and pointing in the direction they faced. After what seemed a long time, they resumed grazing......a bear?...maybe.
Allan Carrano, Spartanburg, SC Member Since July 2016 Artist Statement I've been an avid photographer most of my adult life, but I found a more secure livelihood in being a scientist...my other talent; not that I haven't had success as an amateur and part time professional photographer. I've been published in magazines and scenic calendars. I've also won awards, including Kodak's International Newspaper Awards (KINSA). Among some 250,000 entries, my photo placed 2nd in the color category, and was exhibited at Kodak's Epcot Pavilion in Disney World and in National Geographic Explorers Hall in Washington, D.C. Now that I've entered my retirement years, I am devoting full time to creating photographic art and sharing the results through Imagekind.
