Artist Statement I am Paul Jenkins. To me, photography, just as any discipline, is a way of living. I discovered my passion when i realized that my favorite thing is to go where I've never been before. I fell in love with life and without even asking me, it dragged me to Mexico. I really believe there are things nobody would see if I didn't photograph them. I try to take something that looks creaky and through intrigue, turn it into something magnificent. I always thought of photography as a naughty thing to do that was one of my favorite things about it, and when I first did it, I felt very perverse. I am proud to say that as a photographer i've learnt two important things: Nothing is ever the same as they said it was, therefore I never have taken a picture I've intended. They're always better or worse. A photograph, i must say, is a secret about a secret. The more it tells you the less you know.
