Description This is my final piece from the third and final folder which revolved around the theme called ' Work, Rest, and Play'. Out of all the final art pieces I created, this was the hardest piece to create and finish. The inspiration of this final piece came from when I visited the Art Workshop at Kew Gardens on 31st May 2000. I was also able to meet with the artist Stuart Simler who organized the even called 'Old and New South America Botanical Art Project. When I decided to produce this piece in 'black and white' I thought it would be quite straight forward. However I soon found that I had to be a lot more to understand and practice as to how to use Mid Tones, Deep tones, Graduated tones, Contrast, and Blended tones to create a unique final piece. Needless to say I had to make a few attempts at producing a balance of contrasting tones in my composition which I have achieved by using various types of pencils and black ink pens. This final piece is my loved treasure, because it took the most energy, detail, patience, and dedication to complete, hence, im very proud of this work.
