Artist Statement Eric Reese moved to the Flathead Valley 13 years ago in pursuit of adventure, he is now married with three children and lives in Whitefish. Eric first began taking pictures in his late teens as a hobby, but after being inspired by Glacier National Park he began seriously pursuing the craft. Over the years, he has done many different things in the area of photography, from weddings and portraits to owning and operating his own one-hour photo lab and studio. Over the past couple of years he has also developed a process of digitally painting some of his photographs, these he calls “photoart” and has received very positive feedback on this new, innovative effect. One of the most evident aspects of Eric’s award winning photos that sets him apart from the average photographer is his use of light and dramatic color. This past summer Eric and his family have been traveling the northwest doing artfairs in a coming out celebration of his vast works of the Montana Rockies.
