Artist Statement Then I shall bow, in humble adoration/ And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

Photography is my ticket to observe, to notice, to appreciate, to adore. Carrying a camera allows me to stop and stare, to get down to the ground, to get up and climb over, to get in close or to back way up in order to see something in a new or different way. Photography reminds me to see the world as through the eyes of a child--with new awareness and wonder.

Photography allows me to see the beauty in God’s creation--the landscapes, the sunsets. Photography allows me to see the beauty, as well, in the ordinary--in weathered paint, in cracking walls, in crumbling window panes, in doors and hinges. Photography allows me to see.
To me, a successful photograph is like a successful poem. It is simple and makes the viewer want to come back again and again. It makes the viewer feel a connection. It makes the viewer want to share it with someone else. It makes the viewer pause and smile or frown or cry. It makes the viewer want to slow down and look a little closer at their own world--their own surroundings.
Life is short--a photograph helps to capture it, moment-by-moment.
I have only learned what I know through using my camera--through trial and error, through experimentation. I’m sure there are better ways to do what I do--I am learning as I go.
