Artist Statement I was brought into this world on February 1, 1982 which means I am a child of the 80's and lived through the 90's as your typical angst-ridden teenager. Now in my 20's, I, like many of my peers, am trying to figure my way through a post-adolescent existenstial crisis, though, it's not really a crisis most of the time. This feeds into a lot of my work. I am a texas transplant currently living in Oakland, CA and am a graduate of the California College of Arts and Crafts.

I've been making art ever since I first saw Bob Ross on TV. It makes me happy.
I enjoy doodling and consuming way too much popular culture.
I have a thirst for knowledge.
I laugh wierd.

Artist Statement:

I don't know if I will ever grow up.
I don't know if I will ever stop seeing candy colors, crayola, and clouds.
What is the result of a child raised on television and comic books?
Scattered imagery, scattered words, a scattered brain, a doodlebrain.

When I think of my childhood, I think of Texas heat; I
think of mom and dad; I think of the violent dinosaur
drawings I used to draw because that was what all the
other kids considered cool.
I've since learned to create my own pictures.

Only the real world is so unreal.
Gorillas make music for Fisher Price, robots
search for love, and brave toy soldiers fight
while we watch these events on TV.

These beings are constantly shifting through different
realities- lost and trying to find their place and
perhaps I am too. I am the inventor and the
documenter. This is how I deal with having to grow up.
