Description This piece was inspired by mythology of ancient spirits within nature. I created a face from an old stone statue, half buried in the soil. I blended two human eyes into the face to create a feeling of life within the stone. The twigs and branches were arranged to provide 'hair'. We forget that in ancient times, the rocks, earth and plants were regarded as having particular spirits bound within them.
