Artist Statement Jon was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. He paints what he knows, and he knows and loves his hometown. From the natural landscapes to the beautiful man-made structures, the ingrained traditions to the vast mix of intermingled cultures, there is much to see and do in Toronto. Jon strives to capture this in his work.
In particular, he focuses on the Leuty Lifeguard Station, where he spent six summers as a Lifeguard. It was the backdrop for many experiences that forged him into the person he is today, and as an artist his experience there gives him a unique, insiders perspective on one of Toronto's most photographed buildings.
Also, Jon has a passion for traveling. To him there is nothing like roaming the globe, taking in the beauty our planet, both man-made and natural, and capturing the memory of an awe-inspiring view on paper.
Other specialties include cityscapes, landscapes, sunsets, horses, spirituality--especially Buddhism, buildings and architecture.
