Artist Statement Architectural concept designer, Painter, Composer, Writer. Italian, Cita Di Castello, born 1950.
Family moved to south of France, at five years old my parents moved to NYC, at seven years, they moved to Los Angeles, raised and educated, worked in LA. 1968 moved to Paris to finish art education at a great time for political uproar, worldwide,after which i moved south, to the french provinces, to live in a more peaceful environment.
It is a long story, from that point on, but my love for the art world and anything that has to do with creativity, is still and always will be, the most important part of my life.
As for my works, I deal with figurative in many forms,I also am a great admirerer of Van Gogh, being influenced by the beauty of the provinces, both France and Spain.
Least but not last, I use my design education and sometimes Madison Ave. ad work combined with the LA record cover and music field, in a comical point of view on works dealing with great painters of the past, in some series, that i might post in the future;
Any thing my mind can visulaize, is translated into a fervant work of colors on canvas, as my personal expression, is that of color and texture. not only can you see it but you must be able to touch it and feel it.
My brushes can be tiny microscopic and repetative dunes across a desert of color or large mountains and valley's that lead to an open sea of emotions.
This is the way i work and live.
I leave a part of my soul on the canvas.
