Description This is one of the UK's most beautiful moths, the Elephant Hawk Moth, Deilphila Elpenor in the Sphingidae family - know as Sphinx Moths or Hornworms in America. The vivid pink and green camouflage the moth in the pink flowered willowherb which the caterpillar feeds on. This was taken in my garden in Sissinghurst, Kent, UK on a wild Dog Rose which clambers through my apple tree.
James Bennett (Mr Bennett Kent), Sissinghurst, Kent, England Member Since July 2014 Artist Statement Fine Art Wildlife and Bird photography from the UK and my travels to America and Australia.
Macro and Extreme Macro photography of insects and plants are also represented, showing the fascinating and strangely beautiful world normally invisible to the naked eye.
