I got into photography in January 2007 with the discovery of a little something called Project 365, which is this online art project where they try to get regular people like me to take at least one picture a day as a sort of visual journal.

Starting off the year with a borrowed Olympus D-575 Zoom before buying a Canon PowerShot S3 IS on January 12th, I haven't missed a day yet and have taken just over 7,000 pictures on that camera. Owning that PowerShot only made me more interested in photography as a whole and on April 7th, I decided that I needed something more powerful and got myself the Canon Digital Rebel XTi I shoot on now, along with a Canon 28-135mm F/3.5-5.6 IS USM EF lens, my lens of choice.

Already, I can see a dramatic improvement in my photographic abilities. And it was through that that I somehow made my way to Flickr so I can learn more by seeing other people's work.

I now plan on taking a photography course in September, abandoning my previous two years at film school because my experience doing stills photography for one of their shoots -- something called Kyoko -- was far more rewarding for me than anything I had shot or directed before.

My interview at Vancouver's highly-esteemed photography school, the Focal Point Visual Arts Learning Centre, went extremely well, by the way. I guess I know where I'm headed now.
