Artist Statement I am an artist from Howell, Michigan. My passion for art and painting began in childhood. I won my first blue ribbon at age 14 in the National Scholastic Art Competition. I was thrilled! I am primarily self-taught, however, I take classes and workshops whenever I can. I have studied with Larry Blovits, David Weaver, Kristy Kutch and Philip Gray. I do any kind of commission, portraits, landscapes and animals, as well as whatever my own heart directs me. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Madonna University, and also studied art history, there, as well.
I have lucky enough to will several awards and honorable mentions, including Artist of the Year 2006 from the Livingston Fine Art Assoc. I am also a member of the Great Lakes Pastel Society, Brighton Art Guild, and Michigan Plein Air Painters.
St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan gave me an award for donating 3 murals to the Woodland Health Center in Brighton, Michigan.
I have been the Featured Artist at the Livingston Co. Home Shows and a solo exhibit at the Howell Chamber of Commerce. Other exhibits include, Howell Library, Cleary University, Melonfest, Livingston Fine Arts Annual Exhibitions, local restaurants, ongoing at the Classic Rugs and Carpets design, and I am represented by the Blue Heron Gallery in Elk Rapids, Michigan.
