Artist Statement I graduated may 2001 at the Technical University Delft, faculty of Architecture. During my studies, in 1996, I competed in sand for the first time with a group of college friends at Scheveningen beach. Since then I have been working and competing in sand for fun, and after graduating I work as a full time sculptor in sand, ice and concrete. This work consists of participating in big scale events, competitions, demonstrations, workshops and small scale sculptures in for example shoppingcentres. Since it's mostly temporary media I work in, the photographs I make are the only thing left!
Over the years I have worked in quite a number of countries, the list includes Holland, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, France, Portugal, Spain, England, Georgie, Russia, the United States, Canada, China, Thailand and Australia.
