Description The first mention of the city dates back to the year 1087, under the name sancto Iuliano de Ferrol, where Ferrol is probably the local evolution of the genitive form of the Latin anthroponym Ferreolus; as such, Ferrol was probably, in origin, the estate of one Ferreolus.[2] The name Ferrol was adopted in 1982 but is documented at least by the fifteenth century[3].The origin of the name comes from the legend of a Breton saint, Ferreol, who arrived on a ship to the lands of Ferrol, amid a chorus of seven siren. Another tradition says that Ferrol proceeds from farol, alluding to the heraldic figure that appears on the coat of arms of the city[4] . However, according to experts, the origin of the coat of Ferrol goes back to the eighteenth century, and there are also several variants used over time, without having been set in accordance with the applicable legislation since the 1990s[5] . The hypotheses considered most likely of the origin of Ferrol is in the early medieval toponymy. The combination of two words that can mean either 'port - close', 'landing on pillars' or a Ferreoli Domini, 'the lord of Ferreol' veiled allusion to the town, which could have had a temple under the patronage of St. Ferreol.

Most images were taken in Galicia. a region in the north of Spain. Small coastal towns bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, breathtaking panoramas taken in lowlight conditions enhance the natural beauty of this part of the world.
