Roger Anderson, Cardiff Member Since April 2015 Artist Statement Roger Alden Anderson (BIO)
To students at Rincon Middle School, he is known as the Band and Chorus Teacher. But his talents aren't limited to music. He is also a visual Artist. He has displayed his artwork at The Escondido Municipal Art Gallery, in Escondido California. Works such as “Helmet Of Truth” were presented at The Nature Vs Nurture exhibit, October 09, as well two works, “The Black Sun “and “I hear The Roar Of The Sea”, in the Summation 2009 art show (Both juried shows). I also have had a piece (“Fractured Blue”) in their exhibition “Art Riot.” He squeezes drawing time into gaps between classes or when the students are packing up instruments.
Art and music have played important parts his life since childhood. It wasn't until college that he decided that music would be my then chosen career path.
He also has an extensive resume as an Orchestral Conductor and Chorale Director including Conducting at Carnegie Hall and directing many professional Concerts in Spain and Portugal as well as San Diego.
“Roger A”: Artist Statement:
My art is mostly Pen and Ink. I often work spontaneously with shapes and lines that then suggest themselves as a unique and dynamic spur of the moment process. These possible suggestions are then developed to there fullest enhancements stressing movement and continuity.
Each piece is created with environments that allow the eye to wonder freely. This in turn allows the viewer to create their own ultimate meaning and also a more heightened experience.
