Artist Statement I'm born on the 20th of June '73 in Milan. I always liked drawing as soon as I was able to hold the pen more or less correctly (daughter of the artist Albano Donato) filling lots of paper with all my drawings. When I was fourteen I went to the art school and.... I almost stopped! Luckily enough I met at last a teacher (and artist) that we can call so (Tullio Brunone), and he was the one getting me started with oil painting. At eighteen the end of school, life, the need to have a proper income and other things on my mind made me stop painting. "Professionally" speaking I did a lot of different jobs, my ID says "IT programmer" between others. In different periods I've been interested in engraving, wood sculpture, graphic design and very much in photography and writing. The idea of painting never let go of me anyway, even if sometimes I wanted to. Inspite of the lack of confidence in myself and failed attempts to get started again. In 2000 I left Italy for love reasons! I lived in a little island in the Irish sea ( l'isola di Man ) where I wrote a book and few novels but I didn't go through the process to publish them. AFter that I spent three years and a half in Paris. And the, in 2005 cames it was t.suppose to be just for 6 months but we've been there until 2009... In november 2006 I had a daughter thanks to an IFV treatment. She is a big inspiration for me and I say to myself "Now or never!" I started painting again. For all this I'll never thank my husband enough, he helps to make this possible! He also offer me twice a easel even if I wasn't doing anything! Being a mum is a huge thing and also beeing a woman is a huge thing, that's why these two are strong topics in my paintings : motherhood and feminine. Some women leave just in my immagination, some others I have really met. Maybe you'll fall in love with one of them too. Others topics are all aspects of life : happy and bad moments, people I meet, fantasy and, my craziness, of course!
