Artist Statement Alexandra White, the creative force behind Abstract Alexandra, She Festival, Glinda's Workshop, Red Bank Arts Guild and many other businesses, began at a very early age, learning to paint along side her mother, a contemporary artist. Her inventiveness, as a serial entrepreneur and perseverance to educate communities regarding the importance of supporting the arts, is attributed to her father, whose ingenuity was unbound.

In the early 1990’s she produced and marketed her first simplistic style as a street artist, up and down the east coast of the United States. Constantly marketing her art, she gained exhibits in cafes' and galleries throughout the United States and made her way to Europe. Her style grew and she began to build an audience. Craving always to create art, she learned to work with a multitude of mediums such as oil, pastel, acrylic and watercolor. Unbound by traditional methods and a poor naturalist, she utilized recycled materials such as; paper, wire, metal, wax, wood, glass and various kinds of earth to create many 2 & 3-dimensional pieces.

“The artist shows an uninhibited style as though all emotion was transfered to canvas”.-Geoges, art critic. "The artist expresses desire, throughout this series of brilliant lined art”.-Kurt Plazein, art critic(Translated captions)

By the late 90’s, the artist, relocated to Columbia, South Carolina. Soon after creating the Gray Series in which each piece yielded sharp lines with deepening texture, generating wonderful reviews. The most sought after paintings in the series; WILD WOMEN and CHIARI S. C. URO FOREST, prints remain in high demand. The sharp abstract style of her work express a surrealistic quality, reminiscent of the great masters from early 20th century. Her EMBRACE series emanated a bevy of flowing color, expressing the emotional balance between love and human desire. In 2006, her CELEBRATING STEVE series received high reviews with few originals still available. "Within these paintings, the artist denotes a sense of loss, peace, and celebration of life".-J.Day

Many of the raw and emotional multi media pieces as well as her abstracts are exhibited permanently in Cafe's and Galleries around France, Great Britain, Germany, New York, and Washington D. C.
