Description Off the coast of Maine in Winter Harbor I spent a month as the Artist In Residence. I loved the Winter Harbor area as well as Acadia National Park. You don't get much sun during the time of year I spent there, which was okay. I loved the muted tones and values. This particular scene was also selected as one of the top 100 Minis in the last Arts For The Parks competition held out near Jackson Hole, WY. This is an original pastel painting.
Betsy Popp, Townsend, Wisconsin Member Since November 2008 Artist Statement I work in a variety of mediums including pastels, oils, acrylics, watercolors, pencil, and wood sculpture. I instruct in a variety of mediums as well. I love the out of doors and my work usually resonates from images I experienced there.
