Artist Statement I have been learning about art for a lifetime, ever since my brother told me I had to color inside the lines, and Santa's coat was red, not purple. Oh, the lengths we will go in order to win our sibling's approval. Thank you, Jim!

Nature is my inspiration, especially flowers. Flowers are a symbol of love and passion to me. When I am really engrossed in a painting, the beauty of a flower can overwhelm me. When I capture that beauty, I sometimes can smell the flower, even though I am working from a photograph, and the flower itself is long gone.
