Artist Statement Oil pastels give vivid colors that are perfect for adding colors in our lives. I started painting with pastels while I was hospitalised for a long period, waiting to give birth to twin babies. Art helped me to live my condition in peace and hapiness. My condition inspired me as an artist. I discovered then my own path, my own touch in creativity.

Strong, vivid, lighted colors are the base of my work. Then come the lines and shapes. The final result is an abstract image that opens the imagination. My inspiration comes from the nature. Organic shapes and colors are found in my work.

Most of my paints have their "twin" paint. Having two, three or more small paints of a kind on one wall helps fill the space with balance and offer multiple possibilities of decorative effects. Some will say that I create "sisters" paints because I have myself a twin sister.

Past paintwork is with acrylic paint. Realistic landscapes, flowers, this is what I painted the most in the last decade. The prelude of my present art is completed by abstract paints I made in 2010 and 2011 with acrylic colors.

I grew up in a small industrial francophone town in the north of Quebec, Canada, next to a coastal shore. Now living a fast urban life around Montreal for over 15 years, I practice art to connect to my roots, to regain balance in my life.
