Description This is a historic tall ship called the Elissa which was built in Scotland in 1877. It was originally used as a merchant ship and has flow many flags but in 1975 it was purchase by Galveston Historic Society where it was restored at a cost of 7 million dollars and has been in Galveston since. This ship is still sea worthy and is taken out occasionally by a volunteer staff for special events.
