Artist Statement 'Golden Triangle Art' is an online gallery and facilitator dedicated to the promotion of young artists living and working in the countries making up the 'Golden Triangle' in Southeast Asia. 'Golden Triangle 'refers to a particular location on the Mekong river, which borders three countries – Thailand, Myanmar (former Burma) and Laos. There are plenty of skilled young artists living and working in these countries who create exceptional paintings, sculptures or other forms of art. However, with the exception of a few established creators, they all face one challenge: promotion of themselves and their artworks to international art buyers. This is where 'Golden Triangle Art' comes in: we help these artists market their artworks to an international audience through different channels, one of which is Imagekind. We - the people behind 'Golden Triangle Art' - are a group of both Westerners and Thais living in the beautiful city of Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand, which is also the basis for our work.
