Description During a back country hike at Polychrome Pass in central Alaska we came upon a small kettle pond in the middle of the tundra. The clear day allowed for a perfect reflection within it and the recent rain had brought out the green of the fauna. What was really striking about this particular spot was the 'small' glacier made it clear how vast nature feels compared to a city. The glacier in this photo felt like it was right there, but was actually another five miles from this point.

Artist Statement I am a college student about to graduate in May 2008 as a double major in Economics and Rhetoric. I realize those have little to do with photography, however, that does not mean I don't enjoy it. I feel pictures are the best form of inspiration man has created for himself. While most people understand how to read a language and all know how to speak, photography is the only true form of universal communication. Even hand signs and body language have different meanings to different folks, but a good photograph can have a meaning which crosses the cultural bounds which tie our world. In short, I joined imagekind to enjoy other peoples photography and hope they enjoy mine as well.
