Artist Statement My passion for photography started in 1970 when I took an old plastic Kodak 127 camera to photograph the arrival of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip in my home town. By 1972 I had graduated to a Zenith E camera and a Durst J35 enlarger. I was turning out 5X7 black & white prints in my own under-the-stairs darkroom. I didn’t know anything about Ansel Adams or “dodge & burn” but I did know I loved what I was doing.

In 1976 I was interviewed by a guy called Claude, yes a Frenchman, who not only hired me as a technician but also taught me how to glaze 16X20 B&W prints using a piece of perspex and a rubber roller!

Over the years, as I became a serial entrepreneur, I lost touch with my passion for photography; let’s just say that my passion has been ignited again!

My wife of many years has become a great photographers assistant and together we really do like to travel and take photos. We also love helping young people as we believe they are the future, really.

I am a devoted Canon man, I love using top quality lenses but always try to save a little by buying generic accessories that don’t impact the final piece of art.
