Juan Romagosa, San Francisco Member Since February 2012 Artist Statement I am fascinated by the magic of the human figure and awed by the wonders of nature, illustrating the interplay of mankind and nature in my paintings, reconciling humanity to the environment, and exploring interpersonal relationships. My preferred medium is oil painting, exploring styles ranging from the symbolic, such as Romantic and Magic Realism to Contemporary Realism with an edge. My predilection is Figurative allegory in thought provoking settings that evoke a sense of Classicism and playful surrealism that has been likened to Salvador Dali.
I am regularly accepted into juried art shows; and collected in the US, Europe, and Australia for my unique yet accessible style. I'm a member of the Berkeley Arts Center, Arts Benicia, Sacramento Fine Arts Center, and I’m represented by the Vacaville Art Gallery in California as well as Xanadu Art Gallery in Arizona.
