Artist Statement I have been an amatuer photographer for as long as I could point and click a little plastic camera my parents bought me. I spent many years in the lithography business as a high-end color specialist, with a special emphasis on color management. My passion for photography has grown as digital cameras have become more and more popular and powerful.

My particular love is for landscape and macro photography, as well as architecture. Nature is often the best subject - and nature's impact on reclaiming man's footprint on the world fascinates me. I tend to eschew artificial lighting unless absolutely necessary, relying on natural or reflected lighting and exposure to help create interesting compositions. I try to rely on the camera as much as possible, doing very little retouching. I may also push colors for higher saturation and purity - often beyond the printable ranges.

That said, I love all forms of photography, especially when light and shadow are composed to create striking images. I love history, motorcycles and satire.
