Artist Statement Professional Kodak Certified Portrait Photographer since 1996. I have worked with thousands of clients and situations including people/families/children, head-shots, special event, marketing, promotional, photo journalism, professionally (hired by artist) event "paparazzi", promotions, marketing (international and national), magazine spreads, major and minor corporate clients, internationally published 6 times, Nationally published over 20 times. My photography has been used in Better Homes and Gardens (multiple times), international catalogs, work for Clear Channel radio stations and performing artists, and dozens more. If you want it, I probably have it somewhere in my collection.
I believe that true photography is only true when it has not been manipulated through various efforts. I do bare minimum "manipulating" to my images. 9/10 times the only editing done is a vignette, cropping and maybe a contrast density change of 1 or 2 levels.
I don't believe a real artist should need to edit the heck out of their photos. Art is art, and talent is talent.
I CAN and WILL edit or airbrush to client preferences but do not show or present images that are not 90% true to original. This makes me different than many photographers out there. My work is based on talent, education, but most importantly , EXPERIENCE.... not based on Photoshop or light-room capacities. I do not use either of these (or similar) products.
