Description Lighthouses are both romantic and functional, public and solitary, friendly and lonely, needed and obsolete. A constantly set arguing set of emotions standing tall and with a singular purpose.
Jason Herring, Modesto CA Member Since January 2009 Artist Statement "Olam" is a word in the hebrew language loosley meaning "In The Far Distance." When looking off in the far distance it is difficult to make out any details and what is beyond that horizon cannot be seen, a concept known as the "olam". The word "olam" is also used as a description of time, for the distant past or the distant future is a time that is difficult to know or perceive. In the minds of ancient peoples, the "olam" is simply what is at or beyond the horizon, a very distant time or place.
