Artist Statement Ron grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas and began playing music in the mid sixties. Local AM radio stations played a mix of blues artists with the top 40 songs of the day and opened the door to his discovery of an art form he grew to love. After living for a short time in Nashville, Ron moved to Austin in 1975. From 1981 to 1983 he was a staff songwriter for Island Records. In 1987 he toured the Soviet Union with a group of musicians, artists and journalists, performing in St. Petersburg (then Leningrad), Moscow and Kiev.
He and his wife, Deborah, moved to Los Angeles in 1989 where he worked for A&M Records until 1997. Relocating to the Pacific Northwest in 2004, Ron has continued to focus on his music and art. Currently his work is being featured at locations throughout the US and can be found in the homes of Dr. John, Jorma Kaukonen, Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora and Kurtwood Smith.
In 2007 and 2008 Ron was commissioned to do the cover of the Oregonian's A & E section for The Waterfront Blues Festival. He has been featured on OPB' s Art Beat and his work can be found in galleries nation wide.
