Description HAPPY TRAILS PANORAMA - SUPERBLOOM 2019 by Lynn Bauer - The 2019 wildflower season has been termed a 'superbloom,' thanks to the rains we have received in California this year. Many of our hills are covered in pallets of various hues this spring, because of the pretty flowers covering them! The Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve in on fire with the bright orange of the incredible poppy bloom there, and word of it has spread across the internet, bringing incredible traffic and crowds. Fortunately, I used to live in this area and have spent many years photographing the wildflowers all around the area...so, this year I went to some of my 'secret spots,' rather than going directly to the Reserve. This area has a beautiful mixture of flowers and the orange poppies on one slope contrasted beautifully with the bright yellow daisies (I think called monolopia) on the next. Obviously, I'm not the only one who knows about this place, as others left me a nice trail to follow!
Lynn Bauer, Ventura County Member Since April 2015 Artist Statement I am primarily a landscape photographer who specializes in wildflower and nature images. I also have a great love for hummingbirds and am constantly adding both photography and fine art images to my collections. I'm always on the lookout for my next new adventure, and I look forward to sharing the things I find along my journey.
