Description A commission based on a friend's dream. I am grateful she allowed me to share it with you. Reaching to the moon, a young woman in white robes transforms into a willow tree. Beautiful imagery. It was my privilege to be given this commission.
John Glock, Jackson, Wyoming Member Since August 2007 Artist Statement I'm a professional artist, framer, degree-carrying philosopher, amateur photographer, starving filmmaker, tarot reader, astrology lover, role-playing geek, wannabe psychoanalyst, and lazy dayhiker. Many of my creations arise from my B.A. in aesthetic philosophy, former career in mental health care, and romance with tarot, fantasy, and astrology. Nearly all my work comes from overly fanciful and intricate dreams. My specialty is pen and ink illustration, and a few of my artistic inspirations are William Blake, Gustove Dore, Andrew Wyeth, Albrecht Durer, and Edward Gorey.
All my artwork is printed from high quality 16 bit greyscale or 24 bit color, 300 dpi scans made on my Epson Perfection V500 Photo scanner. I've purchased test prints of almost every piece in my galleries, and ImageKind does a fabulous job on them. While nearly all of my art looks great enlarged, most of the original work is done on 9 x 12' bristol boards or smaller, meaning the petite and small sizes are closer to what the original looks like. Not to say that you shouldn't purchase a larger print.
I've also designed each of the default framing selections for my work. I currently work as a professional framer and know most of the matting and framing selections ImageKind offers. I've done my best to make sure they accent each piece as best as I can. Art always looks better framed, and ImageKind's pricing is pretty competitive.
