Julie Deans, Toronto Member Since February 2008 Artist Statement I am a self taught artist, having started drawing as soon as I could hold a pencil in my little paws... um, fingers. I am a graduate from the Desktop Publishing Program at Mohawk College, and I had the opportunity to participate in formal Oil Painting lessons (a night of tea, relaxation and art - can it get any better?). Through college I learned an abundance of different illustration methods including pen and ink, water colour pencil crayon, marker, airbrush and more. My passion for drawing is obvious in my work - carefully composed to capture the true spirit of my subject. Drawing and painting are not "work" to me - they're too relaxing to be considered work - but rather they are a much loved hobby and a creative outlet for my crazy, vast imagination. I offer pet portraits to my clients in graphite pencil, coloured pencil and photography (which has been a fairly recent addition). I'm also entering the digital world, and creating digital paintings with Photoshop, which I am really enjoying! Please visit my website for more details or browse my galleries here to purchase any of the pieces available.
