Description This is a pencil and graphite drawing of HMS Ark Royal. Launched on 20 June 1981. She was the last Invincible-class light aircraft carrier to be completed, and is the fifth ship of the Royal Navy named in honour of the flagship of the English fleet that defeated the Spanish Armada. Ark Royal is slightly larger than her sister ships and during construction she was fitted with a steeper ski-jump ramp, to improve STOVL take-off performance for the Harrier aircraft.
Daniel Bollans, Great Yarmouth Member Since November 2008 Artist Statement Hello and thanks for taking the time to look at my profile.
I enjoy working in pencil, charcoal, pen and inks for my drawings, sometimes utilising a mixture of all these mediums to create my artworks.
I use Acrylics and Oils for my paintings.
Subject matters which appeal to me, and which I will be concentrating on are Warfare, Armoured Vehicles and Tanks, Aviation, and Naval Warships. I also love to produce artwork of a dark nature on fantasy, horror, gothic and evil type themes.
I am a devotee of death and black metal music, and this has influenced my artistic direction.
I am a freelance illustrator of imagery with evil/horror themes and provide CD cover artworking in traditional and digital formats and logo designs for death and black metal bands, promoters, labels, etc. These are normally pen and ink drawings, although I also work digitally. You can view some of this work on my myspace page at the link above.
I have various tattoos, and love dark tattoo imagery. I can provide artwork for tattoo designs, and again, some of these can be viewed on my myspace page.
This profile is currently being worked on, so please be patient. I will be uploading some images in the next few weeks.
