Irene Butcher, London Member Since July 2011 Artist Statement I am a Landscape and Still life artist. My main media of choice is oil and pastel and more recently, original prints, my favourite techniques being drypoint and mezzotint. I attended 'Ravensbourne College of Art and Design' in the late '70's and since then many other artist-run courses to further develop my techniques. My exhibitions include: Various mixed shows as part of the 'Five Women Artists Plus' between 1990 -'96. The Sweet Waters Gallery, Crawford St. London The Heifer Gallery, Calabria Rd. Lond. The Peterborough Art Centre, Peterborough. The Hyde Park Gallery, Craven Terrace. The Blackheath Library, London. Also showing works at the Royal Free Hospital London as part of the H.A.C. [Hampstead Artist Council] . My first solo exhibition was held in the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, 23rd February - 8th March 2003. I also studied photography at art college and love capturing images on my Canon 450D and want to share some of my best.
