Artist Statement I live in Maui and work as an adventure tour guide and marine educator. Leading daily tours to amazing locations full of turtles, dolphins, humpback whales, and other marine life. This gives the rare opportunity to be in the water photographing these beautiful animals almost everyday. I was introduced to photography from my grandfather who gifted me a film camera and a subscription to National Geographic for my twelfth birthday. Being less interested in the technical aspects of photography. I am approaching it as a means of capturing the personality of these beautifully evolved beings.

All these images were photographed around Maui and the neighboring Hawaiian Islands, captured without the assistance of scuba or diving apparatus. Each image represents one breath.
