"I failed art school by simply not attending; I studied theology thinking about the priesthood and got married; I moved to Zurich, Switzerland to study photography with Jurgen Tapprich and be married; I returned alone; I worked as an assistant to advertising photographers in San Francisco and entered the advertising industry and culture; I continued to shoot for myself; married and divorced a few more times; went back to school to finish my degree in philosophy; completed an advanced degree in Clinical Psychology and attained a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist in California; I am now the artist I always wanted to be and help people who are suffering".

I am Strongly committed to an intuitive approach firstly influenced by the Buddhist concept of mindfulness. Being mindful as a tool to Christ consciousness is at the center of my life and work. My photographic influences include Edward Weston, especially the still life images and the 'Day Books'; Jerry Ulesmann for his abstract conceptual works; Larry Keenan for his special effects photography and Smithsonian work on the San Francisco Beat Movement; Philippe Halsman for his unique vision and especially his interpretational portraiture of Salvador Dali; Helmut Newton for his straight forward and immediate approach to the environmental portrait; Mark Boyle for his work of street scenes around London. My philosophical influences include Martin Heidegger's 'Being and time', 'The Origin of the Work of Art', and 'The Question Concerning Technology'; Karl Jaspers' 'Philosophy of Existence'; Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel's 'Phenomenology of Spirit'; Alfred North Whitehead's 'Process and Reality'.

I have competed the last several years in the International Photography Awards and recieved 3 honorable mentions: 2 in the Abstract and Other category for his work 'CAVE PAINTING' in 2008; and another in the category of abstract for his work 'THE FIELD' in 2010. Mark is shown by Appel Gallery in Sacramento, California. Mark is seeking artist representation, exhibition opportunities, and gallery relationships.
