Description Howth Co. Dublin, is on the northside of Dublin. My mother grew up near there in Raheny. We would go visit granny Kelly bi-weekly, braving the long drive around the coast, via the egg man shop, and to the semi detached on the quiet suburban streets off the Howth Rd. I remember these houses before they were renovated and red bricked. We walked to the local grocery store with pennies for sweets, the people were like us, but we still felt different. So mostly I looked at the northside from my comfortable space on the southside. I am 3000 miles away now, but still I view Howth this way. Hard to not be who we once were. This original oil painting is sold, but you can buy a print if you ever knew Howth or long to go to Dublin.

Artist Statement I am an Irish American currently living in Texas, but I travel to my home in Dublin, Ireland often. I paint what I photograph and remember. I paint in oil, but also acrylic and collage. My current collection is focused on memory and place. But ultimately, I want my paintings to find the homes that know or want to go to the places I paint.
