Artist Statement As a professional Chef, I started to photograph my own creations, and this led to develop a keen interest in photography. From New York City I moved to South America for a few years. In 2006, I had my first photo exhibit, sponsored by Fuji Film in Paraguay, at Uva Terra gallery. I was surprised to that all my work shown was purchased. This motivated me to keep going, and to work harder to show my views. I was then invited by a local anthropologist, Guillermo Sequera, to visit and photograph the last hunter-gatherer tribe in the Latin American Chaco Region, the Tomarahos.
That same year, one of my photographs was chosen as cover for the Guarani-translation of what amount to the most influential book of Paraguayan author Jose Rivarola Matos "El Fin de Chipi Gonzalez". I have photographed different aspects of life in Morocco, Spain, Argentina, Uruguay and the United States. I continue to relish in the opportunity the lens gives me in expressing my point of view. Smile always, I could be there with my camera!
